Happy Easter from the countryside

I wish everybody a Happy Easter!

The weather is lovely. I started up working in the garden today. It was actually so warm that bikini was the perfect outfit. In afternoon I pimped myself for Cafe Loca, put an overall on and went to the stable just a kilometre away. But when we were ready with the horses I was too tired and went home again. (Fresh air is dangerous - it proves to be true again and again).

So now I sit here writing this blogpost dressed up for salsa dancing but there will be none. I think I change and go out in the garden once again.

Pictures from this afternoon, from the stable

This rabbit is half wild. No one can bring it indoors. I wonder how long it will survive the fox and wolf (yes there are some wolfs in this area - seen just 300 meters from where I sit now)

The small ponies had been at the hairdresser.

I like that  attitude.

The Arabian princess- nice and calm while taking care of but nervous while riding or when a car happens to come fast and close.

This morning
This morning I gave my Tritfids their usual foot massage and pedicure. I call them Triffids since Angel's trumpets eats just as much as the aliens in that old horror movie. And their flowers has a mixture by beauty and viciousness. The smell however is like the most exclusive perfume.

Three Angels trumpets, one fuchsia, one perennial Impomea and a few small plants had survived the winter. But indoors of course.

To have an Angel's trumpet indoors is almost having a tenant in the house. A creature - very calm and not noisy - but anyhow. A kind of family member. The Impomea however is a bit  more complicated since it escapes, forks and tangles with adjacent plants. Not to talk about how excellent it blends and with Christmas decorations.

I remove the old soil with my hands. It is the best way since I can feel what parts of the roots that are dead - those are easily removed. With a stick I remove more soil from inside the mass of tangled root threads.

Thirty minutes later the pedicure is ready and I start to fix their hair. This is what is left.

Not more then 1/3 is left after that. That is about 75 cm high..

A few months and later after carrying lots of fertilizer, cow's shit and water - this is the result. An about three meter high beauty.

These pictures are shoot in September after first frost. That is why they seems a bit "sunburnt"  at the edges. I found them beautiful anyhow.

In the autumn I move these plants indoor while they still are full of flowers. It is just like bringing an exotic jungle indoors. They smell lovely in the evenings when new flowers unfolds.
